Summer School: Geothermal energy: resource assessment, plants, and environmental impacts

May-June 2024

The worldwide use of geothermal resources for electricity production is playing a key role in energy transition offering new and interesting career opportunities.
The Summer School will provide students with the basics of geology, hydrogeology, and applied geophysics to understand the phases of characterization of geothermal reservoirs (through online lectures, in May 2024); the notions learnt in class will then be applied in team work activities.
The program also includes a guided tour of the geothermal power plants of Enel Green Power in Larderello (Pisa, Italy).

The Summer School is aimed at MSc students in:

  • Chemical engineering
  • Engineering geology
  • Environmental engineering
  • Geology
  • Geo-resources/Geo-energy/Petroleum and mining engineering
  • Energy Engineering
You have until April 14th, 2024 to apply.
The summer school offers 2 ECTS to the participants that will conclude the course.
