Expanding the boundaries of gender smart mobility

The H2020 TInnGO project is organising an online Multistakeholder forum entitled ‘Expanding the boundaries of gender smart mobility’ on 22nd October, 9 am-3.15 pm CEST.
TInnGO – Transport Innovation Gender Observatory is a 3 years research project funded in the context of the HORIZON 2020 Programme of the EU, aiming to create a framework and mechanisms for a sustainable game change in European transport through a transformative strategy of gender and diversity sensitive smart mobility.
The Department of Environment, Land and Infrastructure Engineering is part of the consortium, with other 19 experienced and committed partners from 13 EU countries, including Turin municipality.
The forum takes place two years into the project. It will be used as a means of not only headlining our results but discussing how the boundaries of gender smart mobility should be expanded. Current perspectives to approach gender smart mobility in the transport sector will be discussed and key concepts, such a smart mobility, gender and diversity mainstreaming will be introduced.
To facilitate meaningful interactions and debates, the event has been organized around four main issues -the gender smart mobility road map, employment, education, and intersectionality-, which are critical to creating a paradigm shift towards greater equality and diversity in the transport sector.
During a lively final session, policy makers, local authorities, academics and transport organizations will be challenged into considering how gender equality and diversity can be applied in practice and applied in future EU policy and funding.
