WORKSHOP POSTPONED  27th September - 1st October 2021   

"Dear Colleagues and Friends,

we regret to inform you that, due to the uncertainty connected to the global pandemic crisis for Covid 19, we have to postpone the II International Workshop on Heritage Stones.
The new period for the workshop is from 27th of September to 1st of October 2021 (we'll give you the exact dates in the following period: however the workshop will last 3 days in total).
The abstract submission is extended to the 1st of April 2021. The already received abstracts will be taken into account for the workshop in 2021 and, if you wish, you can still update them by means the abstract submission link  http://www.diati.polito.it/focus/workshop_on_heritage_stones/abstract_submission  till the new deadline."           


Following the I Workshop on Heritage Stones in Salamanca in October 2018, Torino (Politecnico and University) will host the II International Workshop on Heritage Stones 2020, supported by the IUGS Heritage Stone Sub commission. Three days of seminars, round tables and field trips will be organized to promote the heritage stones and their proper preservation, thanks to the participation of scientific experts and young researchers.

Oral presentations will be selected by the scientific committee among the received abstracts.

The participation of young researchers (minor than 35) is recommended in order to encourage the working session among Heritage Young Researchers.

12.45 - 14.00: Light lunch

14.00 - 16.00: Working session - Historical quarries: uses, protection, regulatory limits, resources

16.30 - 18.30: TourinStones (geoturistic field trip in Turin)

19.00: Networking aperitif-dinner

13.00 - 14.00: Light lunch

14.00 - 14.30: Keynote “The latest state of the art in diagnostic, recording, monitoring and management of stone cultural heritage” - Alenka Mauko Pranjić
