Asbestos analysis laboratory
The Politecnico's laboratory is safely equipped to perform treatments and analysis of synthetic and natural materials containing asbestos. The equipment for the analysis includes polarized and phase contrast microscopes, macroscopes, mills for release index, eccentric mills, crushers, ultrasonic bath and acetone vaporizer.
The laboratory allows the execution of numerous certifications, including:
- Release index of breach materials;
- Total quantitative determination of asbestos;
- Determination of asbestos content in rocks, in soils, in fine fractions, in fiber cement plasters, in vinyl and in airbornes.
The main purpose of Temporary Laboratory at COCIV - Arquata Scrivia (AL) is analyze natural materials to identify and quantify asbestos. This laboratory is equipped to perform both samples preparation and analysis in complete safety.
The instrumentation includes:
- Evolite chemical suction hood;
- Eccentric mill;
- PID System stove;
- Optical microscope with polarizers and lenses for contrast phase;
- Ultrasonic bath;
- FESEM Tescan.
