Deputy Head of the Mining Engineering Department – UFMG
Ph.D. Geologist (UFMG) | Competent Person – Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG)
Specialist in Geometallurgical Data, Rock Mechanics, Green & Sustainable Mining, and Mine Planning & Exploration.
Professor at the Mining Engineering Department of UFMG, also lecturing in the Graduate
Program in Mining, Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, the Graduate
Program in Geology, and the Specialisation Program in Mineral Resources Engineering.

Researcher at the Rock Mechanics Laboratory and the Geometallurgical Laboratory. Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geology (UFMG), a Master’s degree in Environmental Analysis (UFMG), and a Ph.D. in Geology (UFMG), with extensive expertise in Geological Modelling, Remote Sensing, Mineral Exploration, Geometallurgy, Rock Mechanics, and Mineral Characterisation. Throughout his career, he has been the technical lead for more than 150 geological and mineral exploration projects, and has led projects funded by CNPq, CAPES, Vale S.A., Lundin Mining, Anglo American, AngloGold Ashanti, Nexa, MRV, Vallourec, Bafer, Guaribas, Fermavi, OZ Minerals, MG Lithium, and several other companies.

Author of 12 book chapters and more than 30 scientific papers published in national and international venues, and has participated in the supervision of master’s and doctoral research.
