RADARMETEOROLOGY: STATE OF THE ART AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS
Thanks to continuous technological and signal processing improvements, weather radars are increasingly used for observation, forecasting, meteorological and hydrological warnings but also for global monitoring of clouds, precipitation and extreme phenomena.
This 4-seminar series aims to inform a non-specialist audience about the latest developments in this burgeoning technology, exploring applications of national civil protection polarimetric radar networks for estimating precipitation and cloud microphysical properties, electronically scanned radars for monitoring extreme events, and space radars currently in orbit or planned for the next decade by major space agencies.
All seminars will take place at the Main Building of Politecnico di Torino, Classroom 7 and online (those who register online will receive a link via e-mail).
Here the details:
28th April 2022, 5.30-7.30 pm: Radar a doppia polarizzazione e processi microfisici delle nuvole (Dual-polarisation radar and cloud microphysical processes) - Renzo Bechini (ARPA Piemonte) | in Italian
5th May 2022, 5.30-7.30 pm: The weather radar network in support of the national civil protection system - Gianfranco Vulpiani (Protezione Civile) | in Italian

19th May 2022, 5.30-7.30 pm: Space weather radar: what's next? - Alessandro Battaglia (Politecnico di Torino - DIATI) | in Italian
Reservation is required, using the form below the title of each seminar.
Please note that until 30th April 2022 it is necessary to hold an enhanced Green Pass to participate in congresses/meetings or similar activities (including seminars), unless further arrangements are made which will be communicated to participants.
Even after April 30th FFP2 masks must be worn at all indoor events open to the public (including these seminars).
