RADARMETEOROLOGY: STATE OF THE ART AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS
Thanks to continuous technological and signal processing improvements, weather radars are increasingly used for observation, forecasting, meteorological and hydrological warnings but also for global monitoring of clouds, precipitation and extreme phenomena.
This 4-seminar series aims to inform a non-specialist audience about the latest developments in this burgeoning technology, exploring applications of national civil protection polarimetric radar networks for estimating precipitation and cloud microphysical properties, electronically scanned radars for monitoring extreme events, and space radars currently in orbit or planned for the next decade by major space agencies.
All seminars will take place at the Main Building of Politecnico di Torino, Classroom 7 and online (those who register online will receive a link via e-mail).
