Environmental and natural resources engineering at PoliTo Open Days off

After the conclusion of the Open Days 2021, Politecnico di Torino organizes the Open Days – OFF, a one-month series of side events to get deeper into the master’s degree programmes and the topics linked to them. DIATI will propose three events, where representatives of the industrial and job sector will intervene:

21 June, 5-6 pm Italian time: La professione dell’ingegnerÉ™ ambientale nel 21° secolo

Paolo Piagneri - Responsible for the Environment Sector of the Industrial Union, for over 30 years he has been representing, advising, informing and training in the environmental field. In recent years he has had the privilege of knowing many different types of economic activities in terms of their interactions with the environment, a wealth of experience that seeks to share and put to good use in his professional activity.
Silvia Onidi - Environment and land Engineer, graduated at Politecnico di Torino, freelance. Coordinator of the Environment Commission of the Order of Engineers of the Province of Turin. She has worked with various organizations both in Italy and abroad including the Metropolitan City of Turin, Golder Associates, Studio Buonanno, Barricalla, Wolters Kluwer Italia and the International Labour Organization Centre. She has been involved in the design of the remediation of contaminated sites, also in sites of national interest, as well as the implementation of environmental management systems EMAS and ISO 14001. She deals with environmental consulting to companies and training to managers and workers in the management of environmental aspects.
Alessandro Masoero - Environment engineer with a doctorate in Hydrology obtained at Politecnico di Torino in 2014. Specialized in the prediction, assessment and operational management of hydrometeorological risks. He is researcher and Project Manager at the CIMA Foundation, for which he was local coordinator of activities in Bolivia. He is currently involved in the implementation of alert systems for civil protection purposes in South America and Africa.
Daniel Novarino - SMAT manager of the Castiglione T.se, Chieri Fontaneto and Pecetto T.se Purification Centre. Permanent and determined SMAT employee since March 1, 2012.
Phd and research fellow at the Politecnico di Torino from 2008 to 2012. Degree in Environment and Land Engineering.
Author of scientific publications published in international journals and congresses.


22 June, 2-3 pm Italian time: Petroleum and Mining Engineers in the era of Energy transition

Morgane Alleoud - Master degree obtained at the engineering school of geology of Nancy ENSG (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Géologie, France).
Currently he is the mine geologist of an underground mine of talc in Piedmont (Italy).
In this underground mine he is responsible for the mine planning (short and long term), supporting the production team and the Reserves and Resources assessment and reporting.
Maria Giulia De Donno - She has recently completed her MBA at SDA Bocconi and she is working as Senior Associate Consultant in a top mgmt. consultancy company. In her past Giulia has developed her professional experience as a planner and coordinator of complex O&G operations, with a proven record of accomplishment across multiple client accounts, companies and geographic areas. She is an Alumna of PoliTO and in SPE, she is the YP Chairperson of SPE Italy.
Giorgio Russo - He holds an MSc cum laude in Petroleum Engineering (2016) at Politecnico di Torino with an experimental thesis developed at Istanbul Technical University.
As a fresh graduate, he worked for ExxonMobil as a Project Engineer coordinating the execution phase of several refinery projects in Sicily. Afterwards, he joined Eni by attending the 2nd Level Specializing Master in Petroleum Eng & Ops at Politecnico di Torino.
At Eni HQ in Milan, he has been working as a Reservoir Engineer on multiple topics (well performance and production optimization, virtual metering, reservoir simulation) applied to Eni assets worldwide.
Matteo Trevisan - He is a Production Engineer working for Eni at the COVA plant in Basilicata, Southern Italy. He serves as Liaison Sections in the SPE Italian Section Board and as First Term Coordinator of the Beyond the Borders 2021 Committee. He holds a Chemical Engineering degree at University of Padua and a Specializing Master in Petroleum Engineering at Politecnico of Turin.
Diego Zurolo - General Manager and CEO in Lochaline Quartz Sand Limited (owned by Minerali Industriali Srl), producer of a high-quality silica sand for glass market.
He has a master degree in Environmental and Land Engineering, specialization in geoengineering, achieved at Politecnico di Torino in 2012 and a master in business administration achieved in 2018 at Bologna Business School.
He worked for Minerali Industriali Srl in several sites around the world from 2012 to 2014; in 2014 he was appointed as Mine Manager for Lochaline Quartz Sand Ltd.
In January 2019, he was appointed as General Manager of Lochaline Quartz Sand Limited and director for the UK based mining operations.
Massimiliano Giamberini - Reservoir Engineer at Eni in Milan HQ supporting the USA and Venezuela BUs for technical studies. He serves as Liaison Faculty in the SPE Italian Section Board and he is a member of SPE International Membership Committee. He holds an Energy Engineering degree at Polytechnic University of Milan and a Specializing Master in Petroleum Engineering at Polytechnic University of Turin.

29 June, 2-3 pm Italian time: The Environmental engineer of the 21th century

Alberto Comi - Alberto, owning a Master Degree with honors in Environmental and Landscape Sciences and Technologies, is a Manager within the EY CCaSS Italy team, based in Milan. After more than 5 years of experience, his professional focus is the assurance of sustainability reports and Non-Financial Disclosures as per D. Lgs. 254/2016. Furthermore, Alberto has gained proven experience in the definition of sustainability strategies, EHS due diligences and climate change related projects (i.e. reporting and decarbonization strategies).
Cesare Castiglia - Mining/Geotechnical engineer, specialized in project management of environmental and ground engineering jobs. Senior soil and rock mechanics consultant. Senior Project Manager (L.4/2013), PM tutor and PMO, PMP and ISIPM-Base Certified. Specialties: Project Management, Geotechnical design, Geotechnical monitoring, Field supervision, Rock mechanics, Mining, Tunnelling, Waste landfills, Tailing ponds, Rockfall protection.
