Biography

Lorenzo Sica is a PhD candidate in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Politecnico di Torino within the DIATI department. He achieved the bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, followed by the completion of master's degree in the "Structures and Infrastructures" program at the Politecnico di Torino. During the master's thesis development, he dealt with the building of numerical models and their application to electric mobility in urban areas. This experience further stimulated his passion for the scientific field of transportation systems and, for this reason, he decided to start a PhD within the Scientific Sector of Transportation. His research activity specifically focuses on the modelling and simulation of transport systems, taking into account emerging trends in mobility, such as the vehicle electrification and driving automation. His research activity is in the framework study of solutions to provide safer, more efficient, and sustainable transportation services.
