Reviewer for over 100 papers submitted for publication in international journals and for research projects presented at the Italian Ministry for Research and University (PRIN), National Science Foundation, Swiss Science Foundation, etc. Chair of the Subdivision on Estuaries, Wetlands and Eco-Hydrology of the European Geophysical Union in the years 2007/2011.
Torricelli Prize for the best young Italian scientist in Water Engineering, 2006.
In the past few years he has coordinated 8 national (principal investigator for FIRB-Futuro in Ricerca 2012 project; local research unit for PRIN projects; research projects for public bodies and private companies) and international research projects (Interreg projects) for a total budget of 1100000 €.
