Biography

Daniele Martinelli graduated with honours in Environmental Engineering (major in Geoengineering) in 2010 and obtained a PhD in Environment and Territory in 2016 at the Politecnico di Torino. From 2010 to 2013 he worked as a project engineer on the design of underground works in rock masses at Rockplan and from 2016 to 2018 he acted as Manager of the applied geomechanics and numerical modelling department of the same company. Since 2018 he has been working as Assistant Professor at DIATI of the Politecnico di Torino and his research interests include soil conditioning and backfilling technology for EPB tunnelling and the geomechanics applied to civil and mining industries.
