DIATI DONATES A SET OF SURVEYING EQUIPMENT TO ST.JOSEPH UNIVERSITY IN TANZANIA

The shipment of two Total Stations to the Department of Civil Engineering of Saint Joseph University in Tanzania (http://www.sjuit.ac.tz/) has been successfully concluded. As acknowledged from a letter received from the President of the University Council, Prof. Ananth, the equipment has been adopted from October 2016 for practical lessons that have involved 600+ students so far. At the same time, the faculties in the Dept. of Civil Engineering are also getting exposure to such equipment to refresh their knowledge on Survey Techniques.
Such donation accomplishes one of the commitments taken by the group of Surveying and Mapping of DIATI – Department of Environment, Land and Infrastructure Engineering at the time of receiving special funds for educational activities from Politecnico di Torino in 2015, allowing the renewal of the Total Stations for the students of the Survey Lab. Prof. Giuseppe Quaglia from DIMEAS gave an important contribution to the initiative, organizing and monitoring a complex oversea shipment in cooperation with the association “Noi con Voi”.
